Carl Cox & Perry Farrell’s JOYA gets the remix treatment by Vintage Culture, Radio Slave, Curses, Christopher Coe and Collective States

After the successful release of a most unexpected and celebrated collaboration between Carl Cox and Perry Farrell, we felt it most appropriate to follow up with a highly creative collection of remixes from a diverse range of electronic artists around the world. 

Carl Cox, the world's best known techno DJ, live artist and producer, founder of Awesome Soundwave, Intec, 23rd Century and many other labels, innovator and originator from the early days of rave to the world's biggest festivals of today and Perry Farrell, lead singer of the legendary Jane’s Addiction, Porno for Pyros, songwriter extraordinaire, DJ and founder of the famous Lollapalooza festivals came together early last year to write and produce Joya. 

In a true blend of styles and sensibilities, the duo created a song with a deep and resonant message of hope that is so relevant in these times (and any time, for that matter). 

And now to carry the message further comes a collection of beautifully eclectic remixes from luminaries: Vintage Culture, Radio Slave, Curses, Christopher Coe and Collective States. 

These remixes along with the original instrumental version from Carl serve to complete the Joya cycle. An important artistic expression from Carl and a great collaboration between him and Perry Farrell.

Joya is a singular gem in it’s uplifting sound and a powerful and melodic lyrical exploration of what it is to explore our humanity, community and the coming together to dance and be joyful. 

As Perry says : “It means the world to me that we’re making people so happy with our music.. Joyaaaaaah!” 

And Carl explains : “When the opportunity came to work with Perry, I jumped at it and sent him the idea for Joya! It just came together so beautifully and I have been proud to play it as the closer for all of my sets in the last year. People respond to it with such joy, and that is what I was aiming for all along! Joya!”
