Christopher Coe redefines Live Electronic Music with his Modular Lounge experience
Electronic music enthusiasts are much like vinyl collectors, seekers of the rare, the authentic, and the experiences that preserve the magic of discovery. Few artists embody that ethos quite like Christopher Coe. Rarely granting interviews, Coe allows his music to speak for him, creating experiences that are immersive, unrepeatable, and entirely offline. His new Modular Lounge project is a private, site-specific encounter that showcases why he is considered one of the most innovative and enigmatic figures in live electronic music today.
Modular Lounge invites audiences to step out of the chaos and into a space of texture, tone, and presence. Raw, improvised, and deeply human, Coe performs entirely on a modular setup, weaving hypnotic soundscapes that evolve in real time. Each session is an unrehearsed, site-specific composition shaped by the energy in the room, ensuring that no two nights are ever the same. Most recently, Modular Lounge unfolded at a secret location in Ibiza, continuing the project’s tradition of immersive, invite-only encounters. The experience is offline, with no livestreams and no hashtags, leaving only the sound, the space, and those who find it. This is not a show. It is an encounter.
He recently sat down with Electric Mode to talk about his new project. You can read the full story here.
