Christopher Coe continues his breathtaking Worlds End series with Inistruk

One of the founders of the Awesome Soundwave imprint, Christopher Coe, continues his evocative Worlds End series  this summer with a bold new chapter: Inisturk, a remote island off the western coast of his native Ireland.

This breathtaking project is dedicated to capturing the raw, untamed emotion Coe experiences on these islands—transforming that feeling into immersive long-play audio releases paired with stunning visual recordings. For each chapter, Coe travels light, arriving by boat with only his modular analog system and a small team, ready to improvise his way into the soundscape of each location.

Following the creative success of the first release, Achill Henge, Coe now turns to Inisturk—another isolated, wind-battered gem of the Atlantic. The challenges of transporting equipment across rough terrain and dealing with unpredictable weather only fuel the creative process, pushing the team to capture something extraordinary in every moment.

The Island Series is a profound expression of Coe’s deep connection to the raw beauty of these windswept, barren islands off the coast of his homeland and a tribute to his roots. It’s also a powerful reminder of the primal force of techno when fused with landscape, emotion, and authenticity.

Filmed and directed by visionary local film makers Hanna Fuzesi and Jayke Morris (collectively known as Team Point Break) and further animated and elevated by the innovative and immensely talented Roy Gerritsen (of yFX), this series of films are works of art in themselves. Works of aural and visual beauty that leave a lasting and emotional impact on the viewer.

With each release, Awesome Soundwave continues to push boundaries, offering a deeply personal, atmospheric experience that resonates with tastemakers and fans alike.

Stay tuned as Coe makes his way to more islands, one at a time—each with its own sound, its own story.

In Coe’s own words:
“In my Worlds End islands series, I plan to travel to as many of the western isles off the coast of Ireland as possible in the coming years. There, I set up my modular rig and just play, inspired by the locations at the edge of the world. These places hold so much human history and the landscape so much geological history and raw beauty that I truly feel inspired to dig deep and improvise.”
