Born in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, music is Anahit’s calling, and her path went from playing piano at the age of seven to studying at the Conservatory of Yerevan. After graduating in 2016, this took her to Hamburg, where she began to truly blossom. In the final stages of her Masters in Multimedia Composition, she created her first electronic piece and a new passion was ignited... With her formal training and wide-ranging influences, Anahit’s early productions were of a high enough standard to find a home on an Armenian label run by her friends. From there, she released with German labels Jannowitz Records and Alaula, plus Hydrozoa in Los Angeles.
Anahit’s knowledge of sound, vibration and frequency are inherent to her musicality. She is acutely aware of how music impacts the state of mind and wellbeing of those who are listening to it, working to ensure that her productions have a positive influence. This conscious approach lies at the foundation of her output, and has been a catalyst to her growth and development as an artist.
Anahit finds inspiration from travelling, listening to classical and ethnic music, and being in harmony with her homeland. A proud Armenian, Anahit is conscious of representing her homeland on the international stage and aware that her presence alone is a potent force for bringing awareness to the Asian country. She uses her real name to reinforce this national pride, bringing a distinct channel of influence into electronic music as one of very few Armenian artists to have a global profile.
